This course covers the essential information that every serious programmer needs to know about algorithms and data structures, with emphasis on applications and scientific performance analysis of Java implementations. Part I covers elementary data structures, sorting, and searching algorithms. Part II focuses on graph- and string-processing algorithms. All the features of this course are available for free. It does not offer a certificate upon completion.
While this course was originally designed for first- and second-year undergraduates, it is appropriate not only for college students but also for professionals. Two-thirds of our learners are college graduates working in industry.
Concepts Covered: Binary Trees, AVL Trees, Heaps, Tries, Traversals, Graphs, Adjacency Matrix, Traversal, Cycle Detection, Weighted Graph, Dijkstra's shortest path algorithm, Minimum spanning tree, Undirected Graph, Dynamic Programming
Prerequisites: Prior coding experience or knowledge of OOPs, OOAD and Algorithm I any one programming language.
