THE VISION
Turn exhibitor data into actionable retention intelligence—before it’s too late.
You don’t build industry-leading trade shows without understanding what exhibitors need—and making sure they keep coming back. That’s exactly what GS Marketing has long excelled at: building strong client relationships, curating high-value events, and driving ROI for exhibitors across sectors.
But as competition increased and buyer behavior shifted post-pandemic, the challenge became clear: retention could no longer rely on gut feel and historical averages. GS Marketing’s sales and customer teams had deep intuition—but lacked predictive tools. Every year, teams spent hundreds of hours trying to identify which exhibitors were likely to churn and why. Some decisions were reactive. Some were late. And when valuable clients didn’t return, the business lost not just revenue, but long-term brand equity.
That’s when GS Marketing made a pivotal choice—to go beyond static reports and CRM dashboards, and build true predictive intelligence into their retention workflows. They didn’t want black-box models or abstract scores.
They wanted interpretable AI, deeply integrated into their team’s daily tools—something that could not only flag churn risk but explain it clearly and suggest targeted retention actions. That’s when they partnered with Swabhav Techlabs. Together, we envisioned an AI-powered churn prediction system that could do three things:
- Predict which exhibitors are most likely to churn
- Explain why (using SHAP-based feature attribution)
- Enable timely, personalized action before it’s too late
The result was a complete, deployable AI solution that empowers sales teams to act with precision—boosting retention rates, improving rebooking timelines, and ensuring every exhibitor feels seen, valued, and understood.

THE Solution
A production-grade AI churn-prediction engine that flags at-risk exhibitors, explains risk drivers, and automates retention outreach—turning reactive workflows into proactive revenue defense.
Turning Retention from Guesswork to Precision
GS Marketing runs some of India’s leading exhibitions—but identifying which exhibitors might not return was a manual, inconsistent process. Sales teams relied on instinct and static reports, often reaching out too late.
Leadership wanted a solution that not only predicted churn, but explained it clearly and enabled the team to act with confidence. That’s where Swabhav’s predictive AI came in.
We collaborated with GS’s account management and analytics teams to define risk factors based on exhibitor behavior—past bookings, engagement scores, survey responses, and service touchpoints.
The goal: accurate churn risk paired with human-readable insights. Our SHAP-enhanced model doesn’t just say “who”—it shows “why”—empowering managers to act on the root causes, not just the symptoms.
Data Architecture and ML Backbone
We ingested multi-year exhibitor data, engineered 25+ predictive features, and trained both XGBoost and Random Forest models, validating with an 83% F1 score.
SHAP plots revealed global churn drivers (e.g., drop in spend, lack of engagement) and individual risk factors per exhibitor. These insights were surfaced via an intuitive React dashboard and connected to automated workflows—email alerts, CRM triggers, and account manager nudges.
Real Impact and Next Horizons
Within three months, the system flagged over 400 high-risk exhibitors, reduced churn by up to 25%, and boosted rebooking rates significantly.
GS Marketing now uses the model during renewal cycles, and is exploring extensions like offer optimization and generative messaging.
With explainable AI integrated into daily workflows, retention has become both proactive and predictable.
